Prevents and treats pressure ulcers

Exceptional Pressure Distribution

  • The Nest® Mattress provides excellent pressure relief at skin level (interface pressures) but more importantly at the inner tissue level
  • The Nest® Mattress disperses the load away from the patient in all directions through its interlocking 3D spring structure
  • The Nest® Mattress was designed using computer modelling and finite element analysis to help predict and reduce internal tissue deformation, in line with the new published international guidelines on prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers/injuries.

Improved Blood Flow Circulation

  • The Nest® Mattress allows better blood flow circulation into the capillaries as the localised low compression areas in the structure of The Nest® Mattress allows greater blood perfusion
  • The Nest® Mattress provides better blood flow enabling the patient to move more easily on its smart rebound material

Improved Microclimate

  • The Nest® Mattress is 90% air, creating excellent breathability, which is 10 times more effective than foam
  • The Nest® Mattress provides lower skin temperature and lower humidity meaning there is less metabolic demand and a stronger stratum corneum, which will prevent the development of pressure ulcers
  • The Nest® Mattress also maintains a constant low temperature and low humidity within the mattress which prevents heat build up (heat jam) that can occur with foam.

  • The Nest® Mattress, with its anti-microbial properties and unique structure, inhibits the harmful bacteria, reducing the risk of healthcare associated infections
  • The Nest® Mattress, inhibits harmful bacteria because of its low temperature and low humidity environment
  • The Nest® Mattress, unlike foam, in the event of strikethrough on the mattress cover, will not harbour bacteria.
  • The Nest® Mattress meets Internationally recognised SEK Standards for Antimicrobial, Antibacterial and deodorant functions.
  • The Nest® Mattress breathabliity prevents the formation of mould inside the Mattress.
  • The Nest® Mattress prevents dust mite propagation.

Can be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected

  • The Nest® Mattress can withstand extremely high temperatures (melting point 200°C), which makes it suitable for various disinfecting processes such as submersion, industrial machine washing, pressure washing and vapour disinfection.
  • The Nest® Mattress can be easily tumbled dried

Durability against Ozone Disinfection

The Nest® will not sag, even after Ozone Disinfection

Environment

100% Recyclable and Reusable

The Nest® Mattress is eco-friendly and in line with environmental EU directives.

100% Recyclable and Environmentally Friendly

Polyurethane cannot be recycled easily and is commonly discarded waste. But Nest is made of a polyester elastomer, so it can be melted and recycled in an environmentally friendly process. It is also suitable for recycling fuel, with conversion ratio to Bunker A fuel oil of over 90%.

Material is eco-friendly, as almost no poisonous gas is released when incinerated

Durability

Superb compression recovery

The NEST® compresses more gently than polyurethane and recovers more quickly.

Poly-cotton requires greater force to compress than polyurethane and is slow to recover

High compression durability

The action of highly durable polyester elastomer controls sagging.

Exceptional stability and comfort

  • The Nest® Mattress supports the whole of the body and avoids undue internal pressures, which, unlike foam, prevents the patient slumping into the mattress.
  • The Nest® Mattress was shown to be very comfortable in sleep monitoring and comfort studies.
  • The Nest® Mattress with its rebound (spring-like) properties enable the patient to turn more easily and not feel stuck in the mattress.
